HFS Attends the Lion King!
Students in grades 3 through 8 gathered at Holy Family School at 5:30 p.m Sunday, January 24, and boarded buses to attend The Lion King at the Civic Center. Transportation was funded in part with a grant from the Iowa Arts Council, a division of the Iowa Department of Cultural Affairs, and the National Endowment for the Arts.

The students thoroughly enjoyed this unforgettable Broadway play - an experience of a lifetime. They are truly grateful to the people that made this happen - the James and Jeanne O'Halloran Foundation, the Theresa Swalwell Miracle of Music Fund, an anonymous donor, the Iowa Arts Council, and the Civic Center (who reissued tickets after the first attempt to attend was spoiled by inclement weather).
Among the many expressions of thanks, one student remarked: "I hope someday I can be generous like them!"
